Baker Elementary School in West Dennis, Massachusetts is very proud to announce the total of our 2011-2012 Penny Harvest.  Thanks to the support of our school and local community, we were able to collect $1,230.06!!!  Given these tough economic times, we are so proud and impressed with this accomplishment!  Although we came up a little short of our goal of $1,500 -- we know that it is not about the money but rather the process by which our students decide how to use our Penny Harvest funds to best help our local and global community. The video captures the excitement of the Penny Harvest student leaders from Ezra H. Baker as they collected the penny sacks for the final time on Friday.  In late January, these students will begin the "Roundtable" phase of the program where they will begin months of community research, interviewing nono-profit leaders and making the final tough funding decisions.  Stay tuned for more updates!
